No new word count today. I was bad. I haven't written anything since the last post.

Hello Cyberspace

Well, I'm feeling very ashamed of how long it has been since I posted something here. Let just say that I am going to try and do weekly updates once again.

First off, I want to let everyone know that I decided to go back to school. I am now in my second year of the Hospitality Management for Hotels and Restaurants at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. This is my last year and I am hoping to get a job in a hotel when I am done. So, my writing has been limited due to homework and my new lack of free time.

I am still writing. I am going to attempt to post word counts of my current projects on Sundays. I know that today is not Sunday, but I am going to post them today just because I haven't been posting for so long.

For those of you that have been asking about Keith, I do have something planned for him, but have yet to start it. When it does get started, it will be posted here.

Thanks for putting up with me.

OMG!! I hate computers!!!

No, that's not the news. I just needed to say that. *takes deep breath* Okay, all better now.

The news is that Broken Wings, the fourth book in the Lost Boys and Love Letters series came out on Monday! Isn't that exciting? I think it is.

I've also decided that I'm going to try and be more active on this livejournal. I know that I've said it before, but this time I'm really going to try.

I have decided that Sunday is going to be word count day. On Sunday I'm going to post the current word count for whatever WIPs that I'm working on. This I hope will be a fun way to get you all excited about upcoming novels. I also hope that it will shame me into writing more. You know, kind of a "What do you mean I only wrote three words this week! I can't post that!" deal.

If anyone read the last post, I just want to say that I am not avoiding posting about my attempted weight loss because it is not working. The reason I have yet to post anything is because I still haven't received the damn supplements yet. It's really hard to start a new weight loss plan when part of that plan is missing. I have both called and emailed in an attempt to get this cleared up and that have assured me that they are shipping them right away. My question is why didn't they ship them before? Sigh. Sometimes I just have this urge to throttle people.

Anyway, that 's all for now.

New Plans Kinda

Okay, so I have decided that I am going to try the Acai supplement thing. It's supposed to help you lose weight. There was this thing on facebook where a newswoman had done it and mixed it with something that helps your colon work better and she got results. So I figured, what the hell. My lazy ass is having trouble getting the weight off on my own. And there was a free trial offer that was only good until tomorrow.

Now, I'm going to update this journal with my results once I start taking the stuff. What has me really wanting to try is the fact that some of the shirts that I bought last summer don't look as nice on me as they did then. Plus, I don't want to buy new jeans. I would really like to fit in the ones in my closet that I have never worn because they didn't fit. I would like to make it down to a size 8. I don't think that I'll ever make it back to a 6, which is what I was in high school. And according to the info I was reading these supplements also boost your metabolism and give you more energy. I could use more energy.

So, here's hoping that it works and that there is a thinner, more energetic me at Media West at the end of May.

So, I suddenly realized that I haven't updated this in quite a while, so I figured I'd just toss some basics out there.

Book 4 is done. It's just in some final edits before I send it in for submission. Ashlyn and I have to work the kinks out. Well, not all of them. :P

I've found that I have too much stuff on my laptop that distracts me when I try to write, so I'm going back to writing by hand on paper. Yes, I did just say paper. Plus, that gets rid of the annoying cursor that mocks you when you're stuck.

I got a job at Best Buy for Christmas, so I may actually be busy for a while. That will be a change.

Um, I think that's about it.

Small Comments

I don't really have anything to say right now, but I just wanted to post and updated word count for Broken Wings.

Off to do laundry. I'm out of clean socks.

Work Addictions

So, here I am at work.

Stuck here.

With no laptop.

I have been writing by hand, which is annoying. Both because I have to type everything when I get home and because I managed to injure my hand a few years ago horseback riding and now the pad of my thumb swells when I do a lot with that hand. Hand to be the right hand too. Couldn't be the left one. I need the right one. I'm right handed.

Anyway, I was posting to talk about my lovely work addiction. I can't stop playing Jewel Quest III. And it's my fault that it's on the work computer. It's my game. My boss is the one who got me addicted in the first place to Jewel Quest I. It was on the computer here when I started. Now I've gone out and purchased Jewel Quest III and she wanted to load it here. So now I have the game on my laptop, on the work computer and my Mom has it on the desktop at home.

I swear the game follows you. It has some weird power that just makes you want to play it all of the time. Until you get frustrated. Then all you want to do is toss the game and the computer out of a window.

Well, I should go and get some writing done.

Or maybe I'll play more Jewel Quest.

Changes and Updates

So, I've made some changes to my LJ.

1. I changed the background to the cute little purple grim reaper. I feel as though I should blame Supernatural for this. Or possibly my friend Leslie for my love of all things purple.

2. My LJ pic is now actually a picture of me. Yes, that is me from my trip to Vegas last year. It was taken in front of Harrah's, which is where we stayed. I am also wearing the Star Trek hat that I bought at the convention. Yes, I went to Vegas to go to a Star Trek convention, thus securing me a place in geekdom for all eternity. And I'm going back again this year.

And now on to the Updates.

1. My computer had to be reformatted last month. Thankfully, all of my files were saved.

2. About three weeks ago, the casing on my laptop screen cracked, so now I can't really keep opening and closing it, so it is sitting open at home and I can't bring it to work anymore. Which makes me very sad.

3. Broken Wings, book 4 of Lost Boys and Love Letters, has hit 45000 words!!! Since the last three books all came in around 80 000, I've set the goal for this one around 100 000. Here's hoping I can hit it.

4. I'm going to England next month! I'm going to visit my friend Leslie who is teaching there. I'm very excited. VERY EXCITED.

That's it for now.

New Addictions

So, I have a new addiction.

During the Chirstmas Holidays, I caught an Iron Chef America marathon on the Food Network, and now I can't stop watching the Food Network.  Seriously, I am watching it right now.  There's a Food Network Challenge on and they have to make Beauty Pagent cakes.

Fav shows of the moment are: Iron Chef America, Chopped and Resturant Makeover.

We've had cable for YEARS.  For the life of me, I can't figure out why I have suddenly developed this weird need to watch the Food Network.  I mean, I tape the shows that are on at night so they don't interfere with the stuff I normally watch.  I like watching Resturant Makeover while I work on puzzles.

Yes.  That is another thing I have become addicted to.  I like puzzles.  I've always liked puzzles, I just haven't worked on any in a while and now I seem to have one going all of the time.  I bought four puzzles on Boxing Day.  I've done two, one is almost done and the other is still in the box.  Puzzles are fun.  It's weird.  They tend to frustrate me, but I love it.  When it gets really bad, I just take a step back and watch something on tv.

Okay, the cake challenge thing actually has the little beauty pagent girls in it.  The moms are the assitants.  But man, these girls, wow.  So weird to see little girls wearing that much makeup.  Of course, this is coming from the girl who wears basically just eye makeup and only when she's not really tired.

Anyway, those are my two new addictions for the year.  Here's hoping it sticks at two.

And I'm still cold.
